The Magic Of Paris: Amanda & Kian’s Engagement Shoot

309 Views 0 Comment

Amanda and Kian’s engagement shoot beautifully captures their romance in Paris, the city of love. We can see how Amanda and Kian are falling in love with one another once again, in these shots captured in the most romantic city. As Audrey Hepburn says, “Paris is always a good idea.”

The essence of Paris characterises love, which is why it is the perfect place to celebrate romance.

Since the proposal was in Paris, it must be the reason why you shot your engagement shoot there. Did you consider other locations?

We didn’t consider other locations besides Paris, it was more than ethereal and beyond perfect for the both of us. We have always pictured ourselves, like lovers strolling around Paris, spending an afternoon with authentic french croissants and baguettes paired with aromatic coffee. Being fortunate to travel and explore more than 10 countries together, we particularly love Paris because of the rich history behind and alongside the bold and magnificent buildings and architecture. We have travelled to Paris for more than 4 times and it never disappoints. They say Paris is stunning at dawn and dusk, and we can’t agree more. Especially when the Eiffel Tower twinkles at night, accompanied by glimmering dim lights along the rivers. It is exactly what we wish to capture at our destination prewed.  To sum up, Paris will always be a symbol of our love, a dedication of our promise and commitment to each other.

Do you have any interesting moments or stories to share from the day of shooting?

We woke up at 4 am for the preparation of the shoot with Fran Boloni, The Paris Photographer aka Kiss me in Paris. Since it was in the early in the morning, we happened to bump into a group of Parisian joggers at the Trocadero area, and we must say it is indeed a pleasant surprise to capture shots with a joggers’ entourage.

What was the inspiration behind your shoot?

We didn’t have any specific inspiration for our shoot, we only remembered that while we were touring Paris, we witnessed many couples taking their wedding pictures, and hoped that we could also experience that once in a lifetime experience. Little did we expect that our proposal and pre wed shoot would take place in Paris. One of our ideas is to pop a champagne by the Eiffel tower and to be on the fame moving carousel at the Champs de Mars.

Do you have any tips or advice for couples planning their overseas engagement shoot?

a) An experienced and good photographer who has previously shot your overseas engagement shoot. This helps to cut down on planning and moving around unnecessarily.  b) Plan for weather contingency and have backup plans. During our first 2 and last 2 days of the overseas shoot, we were delayed for half a day because of bad weather. c) Bring a pair of extra slippers or any comfortable footwear to wear while on standby.  Amanda wore heels, and it made walking on uneven roads difficult, and Kian was wearing new leather shoes, hence caused blisters. Luckily, we had band aids.

Full of light, full of love. The beauty of romance! If you are interested in featuring your wedding shoot on our site as well, do drop us an email at
